Welcome to Nólsoy

Nólsoy is one of the Faroes' small islands and is situated approximately 5 kilometres east of Tórshavn the capital. The ferry crossing from Tórshavn lasts 20 minutes, and within those 20 minutes you need to adapt yourself from the noisy city to the quiet village life – visiting the island is like visiting another world. Cars are rare, and you're close to nature.

If you walk some hundred metres north or south from the ferry berth you're already out of the village. This is the home of sheep and birds, and the silence is overwhelming. Maybe you meet some tourists on a locally guided walking tour.

If you would like to stay after the last ferry crossing, we will be happy to accommodate you. Ask the tourist information. If you choose to go back to "the mainland", we're already looking forward to seeing you again.
